Since 1981, Dermatology Specialists of Shelby has diagnosed, treated, and prevented diseases of the skin, hair, and nails for thousands of patients and hundreds of families in southeast Michigan. All of the physicians are board-certified dermatologists who excel in general, medical, surgical, and pediatric dermatology as well as the subspecialties of skin cancer, laser procedures, and allergic reactions of the skin. Meet The Providers

The four dermatologists and four physician assistants at Dermatology Specialists of Shelby take pride in examining and treating patients with respect. They strive to answer all questions and concerns promptly and aim to provide the highest-quality dermatology care.

Ali A. Berry, M.D., FAAD

Dr. Berry received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan in 1998 and went on to earn his medical degree with high academic distinction from the Wayne State School of Medicine in 2002. He finished his post-graduate training as the Chief Resident of Dermatology at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Berry is also the winner of the 2011 Patients’ Choice Award.

Dr. Berry specializes in the treatment of skin cancer, rashes, warts, moles, eczema, acne, and psoriasis as well as the use of laser therapy, Botox® injections, chemical peels, Restylane®, vein treatment, and skin and nail surgery.

Judy Fontana, M.D.

Dr. Fontana is a board-certified dermatologist who received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University in Biological Sciences where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2008. She completed a two-year research fellowship at Northwestern University/Feinberg School of Medicine at the Department of Dermatology where she participated in dermatological research. Dr. Fontana then returned to Michigan to complete her post-graduate training in Dermatology at Wayne State University.

Dr. Fontana has achieved honors in many clinical areas during her academic studies. Her special areas of interest are psoriasis, general dermatology and offers a variety of cosmetic procedures including laser treatment and chemical peels.

Matteo C. LoPiccolo, M.D.

Dr. Matteo C. LoPiccolo, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship trained dermatologic surgeon. He specializes in Mohs surgery and facial reconstruction for the treatment of skin cancer. He is also an expert in numerous cosmetic procedures including neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport), dermal fillers, blepharoplasty, hair transplantation, cutaneous lasers, and other energy-based devices.

Dr. LoPiccolo graduated first in his class from Alma College with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, the highest academic distinction awarded. He completed his post-graduate training at Henry Ford Hospital where he was Chief Resident of Dermatology. He finished his training with a fellowship in Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at SkinCare Physicians in Boston, one of the nation’s leading programs, taught by world renowned faculty with appointments at Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth and Brown Medical Schools.

Dr. LoPiccolo continues to maintain a passion for academics and education. He serves as a staff physician for The Henry Ford Health System Department of Dermatology and Wayne State University Medical School, where he instructs residents and medical students in cutaneous surgery, lasers, and cosmetic treatments. He gives frequent lectures at local and national dermatology meetings, and has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters in dermatologic surgery. He is also active in medical research investigating the latest in device technology and surgical techniques.

Dr. LoPiccolo is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Maria Yaldo, M.D., FAAD

A Michigan native, Dr. Yaldo graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wayne State University in Detroit. She continued on at Wayne State University School of Medicine to earn her medical degree where she graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Her formal training included an internship year at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn followed by dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago where she served as chief resident her senior year.

Throughout her professional career, Dr. Yaldo has written articles in peer-reviewed journals and has authored book chapters in dermatology textbooks. She has presented at dermatological society meetings and remains active as a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Yaldo practices general medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology for adult and pediatric patients. Her clinical interests include skin cancer prevention and treatment, psoriasis, acne, eczema, warts. She values the importance of patient education and customizing a comprehensive treatment plan for each individual patient.

Dr. Yaldo strives to treat patients with the best quality care she can provide. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family in addition to traveling, practicing yoga, and trying new restaurants.

Andrea Rosik, M.S., PA-C

Andrea Rosik, M.S., PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed in Michigan since 2004. Andrea received her Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Health and Humanities from Michigan State University and earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies with high honors from Wayne State University in 2004. Prior to specializing in dermatology, she practiced hospital-based internal medicine, treating routine to life-threatening medical disorders. Her practice philosophy is to provide medical care delivered with the highest ethical standards, compassion, and reliability. She is devoted to treating her patients’ medical, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology concerns. Andrea has been on the board of Michigan Dermatology of PA’s (and NP’s) since 2015 as the Vice President.  In 2022, she became the President of MIDPA where she works to help educate her peers. In 2018, she was voted Michigan Dermatology PA of the year by her peers.

Alicia Scopis, P.A.-C.

Alicia Scopis, PA-C joined our practice in October of 2020. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in 2013 and a Master of Science in Medicine in 2019. Serving as an Orthopedic Specialist in the Army Reserve, Alicia gained hands-on experience treating patients while utilizing her skills and training. Working as a Medical Assistant at Dermatology Specialists of Shelby for two years, she assisted in general dermatology, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic procedures. We are happy to have her back on the team as a Physician Assistant. Alicia loves spending time with her daughter and horseback riding in her free time. She looks forward to meeting and treating you.

Lindsay Boll, MS, P.A.-C.

Lindsay Boll, MS, PA-C is a board -certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) since 2016. Lindsay received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2014 and went on to obtain her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2016, both from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Prior to specializing in dermatology, Lindsay worked as a Physician Assistant in the field of trauma and acute care surgery, treating a myriad of patients with surgical needs and critical illnesses. She is a current member of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants.

Lindsay is native to metro Detroit, growing up in Shelby Township. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her Labrador retriever, biking, skiing, gardening, and traveling Up North with family.

Elizabeth White, M.S., P.A.-C.

Elizabeth White, M.S., P.A.-C. graduated in 2010 Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Following graduation, she worked as a nurse at Troy Beaumont for about 4 years. She started as a nurse on a progressive care unit but spent most of her nursing career as a nurse on the labor and delivery unit.

Elizabeth graduated from Wayne State’s PA program with Master of Science degree in May 2016, with the honor of being inducted into Pi Alpha, the National Honor Society for Physician Assistants. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants and Michigan Dermatology Physician Assistants. Elizabeth looks forward to seeing you.
