Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates, P.C.

Established in 1984, Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates, P.C. takes great pride in delivering the highest quality of care to Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care patients in southeast Michigan, whether it be in the inpatient or outpatient setting. All of the physicians are engaged in the education of resident physicians, as well as medical students from medical schools within and outside the state of Michigan.

The physicians are affiliated with many local hospitals. The patient-centered medical home-neighbor providers work with primary physicians to provide the highest standard of health care.

Meet The Doctors

The practice includes seven physicians, two of whom focus on the Sleep Division. All of the physicians are board certified in Pulmonary Medicine.

Andrew Staricco, M.D., F.C.C.P

Dr. Staricco received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Ascension St. John Hospital.  He completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Staricco joined PCCA in 1997.

Bryan Barnosky, D.O., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Bryan Barnosky is a pulmonary and critical care specialist devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of all lung diseases. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Barnosky received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and then completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency training at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York.

He serves as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Joseph Mardelli, M.D., D.A.B.S.M.

Dr. Joseph Mardelli received his medical degree from Aleppo Medical School in Syria.  He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Our Lady of Mercy University Hospital in Bronx, a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at West Virginia University in Morgantown and a Sleep Medicine fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.  He focuses on all areas of sleep medicine as well as pulmonary diseases.

Victor Gordon, M.D.

Dr. Victor Gordon is board certified in pulmonary and critical care.  He is also board certified and has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

William Ventimiglia, M.D., F.C.C.P.

Dr. William Ventimiglia is a pulmonary and critical care specialist who is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.  He received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and then completed an Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

His special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, COPD, emphysema, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary embolic disease, and pleural diseases.

For five consecutive years, he was named as one of the area’s top pulmonary specialists in Hour Detroit magazine’s “Top Docs” ranking.

John Lee, M.D., F.C.C.P.

Dr. John Lee is a pulmonary and critical care specialist who is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine.

He received his medical degree from the University of Toronto School of Medicine.  He then completed an Internal Medicine residency and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Lee serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University.

His practice is devoted to the care of patients with critical illnesses, as well as a variety of lung diseases, including emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, cough, and lung cancer.

Shelley Schendel, D.O., F.C.C.P.

Born and raised in the metro Detroit area, Dr. Shelley Schendel specializes in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.

She graduated with her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri in 2005.  She went on to complete her training by internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
