Meet The Doctors

Henry Ford Cancer Institute-Shelby Township consists of four doctors, as well as a team of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Sameera Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan is a medical oncologist who completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Henry Ford Hospital. She is board certified in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She graduated from Sind Medical College of the University of Karachi in 1984 and completed residencies and internships at Henry Ford Hospital and the Jinnah Postgrad Med Centre.

Malathy Kilaru, M.D.

Dr. Kilaru is a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer. She completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Henry Ford Hospital and fellowship training in hospice and palliative care at the University of Michigan. She is board certified in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a graduate of the J.S.S. Medical College Mysore University. Dr. Kilaru completed residencies and internships at the Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital, as well as fellowships at Henry Ford Hospital and the University of Michigan.

Dawn Severson, M.D.

Dr. Severon is a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer. She completed fellowship training in medical oncology at Beaumont Health. Dr. Severson attended Wayne State University and completed residencies and internships at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Geetika Kukreja, MD

Dr. Kukreja is a medical oncologist who completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Karmanos Cancer Institute/Wayne State University. She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. She graduated from Mahatma Gandhi College of Medical Science in 2017 and completed her residency at the Detroit Medical Center.

Cheryl Schimers, NP

Cheryl Schimers is board certified as a nurse practitioner from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. She obtained her nurse practitioner training at St. Louis University in Missouri and also studied nursing at the University of Phoenix and the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing. 

Jenifer Olszewski, NP

Jenifer Olszewski is board certified as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed nursing classes and nurse practitioner training at Oakland University in Michigan.

Irina Ghinescu, NP

Irina Ghinescu is board certified as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed nurse practitioner training at Purdue University in Indiana, and attended nursing school at Kaplan University in Illinois and Carol Davila Nursing School in Romania.

Shannon Wills, PA

Shannon Wills is board certified as a physician assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy.

Dawn Roxborough, N.P.

Dawn Roxborough is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a graduate of Oakland University.
